My partner and I are arranging a weekend getaway to Scottsdale the month after next. I started scouring the web for the best hotel rates. Our common fave, the Westin Kierland, had rates beyond what we were planning on spending for this actual trip. Apr is still considered summer season. Scottsdale hotels and resorts often charge more in this top time, occasionally astronomically more. For that reason, we generally visit Scottsdale in the later spring and summer months. We do not mind the heat.
Find a hotel that fits your wishes.Check travel site costs against what you could find on the hotel's site.
When you've cut down your decision on the travel websites, ensure you are getting the best hotel rate by comparing what the hotel is offering on their site. Many times hotels have superb specials and packages that are suited for what you are looking to do. Most hotels offer kickbacks for central authority employees, company rates, AAA or CAA rates, and senior or AARP rates. Always check to verify what's available. Are your dates flexible? The best hotel rates can be discovered by moving your trip a day forward or backwards.
Often the best hotel rates can be discovered by calling the hotel without Delay. As I continued to analyze our Scottsdale trip, I settled on the FireSky Resort and Spa as my hotel of preference. I did all of the common searches on the travel web sites and then did my comparison on FireSky's web site. Earlier in the week, I found a good deal on the hotel's web site using my AAA card. My hubby and I were not a hundred percent sure we were going yet so I thought by the weekend I might book the trip if we made a decision to go. Fast forward to today. I went on the internet site and to my dismay the price had jumped up an extra $30 a night.
Now I know it is not much, but like I revealed earlier, I pride myself on getting the best hotel rate. So I made up my mind to do the old-fashion way of booking a reservation and called the hotel directly. I talked with a really nice hotel employee and asked if the earlier rate I found on their web site was available thru them. She quoted a few rates that were basically more and then asked if I had any of the other deductions besides AAA, which I didn't. She searched some more. She then found 2 rooms that were noticeably lower than what I had actually found online and asked if I needed to order one of those. I was like, wait, are you able to repeat that price? She probably did and then went over all of the specifics of the room. I straight away jumped at the deal which was $50 a night less than the low rate I had found online earlier in the week!
Surprisingly, she then asked what else she could do in order to make sure I had a pleasant stay with them. I jokingly recounted all I desire is a clean room! She laughed and then questioned if I like froth pillows vs feather, a room away from the lift, whether I preferred a countrywide or local paper, and other preferences. I used to be a bit taken back but adored the concern for detail.Much hotter and friendlier than checking a box on the site.It had been a considerable time since I scheduled a hotel room this way but I know now I'll add that to my list of cross references to find the best hotel rates next time. And the one-to-one attention to guarantee I have got a nice stay sealed the deal.
